TPAM - E 150 : The Person Above Me - Evolved

^ The Person Above Me (TPAM) is symbolised by the ^ and then a persons post. The first TPAM was made by WEAPON. In the early days, TPAM was played by commenting on the poster above, although, it quickly evolved into some place to unwind and have some fun. The topic saw a group of regular posters tagged as "Elites" and to this day, there are still L33T TPAMers posting, notably, Hammer, SD, Tubs, SML, Zharen, Neo, Magi Warrior, MetaKnight, Codie Kitty and myself, HotD. New L33T TPAMers have been added as they stay the often, torrid pace of TPAM, including Phenom and Antisocial.

Geneson :rolleyes: will always be considered L33T although he has been away for some time and is sorely missed.

Many changes were incorporated into TPAM. Most obvious, the way posting changed. From its humble beginnings, posters quickly adopted the topic as a place to "play". Fads saw many of the L33Ts look forward to the next days challenge. A whole range of emotions were touched plus TPAM saw war, peace, love, hate and even deaths in it. Any soapbox would be hard pushed to keep up!! Todays TPAM is basically a chat topic with the odd roleplaying thrown in especially the eating frenzy of Tubs and Saria Dragon!!! (hide your bottles of chocolate sauce).

Early 2002, Tubs asked in the main forum a simple request that soon divided VGF! Those people against the idea (of a TPAM forum) made their views loudly and sometimes, sadly, some people degenerated into personal attacks. It was a dark time and hard on the L33Ts. Practically every L33T got flamed. Some deserved it, others did not. This whole issue quickly got out of hand and left a bitterness in some hearts. *sends out grinnies to heal any lingering hurts on all sides* :D

TPAM had a name change following the VGF crash early January. VGFers the world over checked regularly to see if they could post at one their most favourite forums, the TPAMers were no different. But the issue had tainted TPAM. Some of the L33Ts had at-ti-tude!!! The Mods and some L33Ts couldnt compromise and it saw TPAM LOCKED!!!!! Many tried to start new topics to find them deleted and finally, they just gave up. It was no fun anymore. About this time, Genesons personal commitments became too much and he had to go, leaving us L33Ts with hope hed return to start this numbered TPAM.

After what seemed like forever and a miserable time it was too, TPAM finally came back!!! It came back under the guise of "CPAM" representing "Conversation, Person Above Me". None of the regulars, and even visitors, thought the name suitable. After much discussion and some heavy artillery, EPAM was forced upon Misc Forum; "Evolved Person Above Me". Tis the best of a bad situation

TPAM has been slow building back up the hurt, disappointment and sadness have taken its toll, but above every dark cloud, there shines clear skies. And slowly, but surely, that dark cloud is being destroyed. The L33Ts have taken on-board advice and learnt from it they stand tall and stand together, helping each other when the going gets rough.
